  • The red string (or invisible string) theory is the concept that you and "your person" are tied together by a red/invisible string of fate. This string may stretch and tangle but will not break. This sentimental piece was created to celebrate finding your people like a lot of us have done through Dance Horizons.

  • Description: Attention all! The ‘King’s Dead’ but long live these Queens! If you're not a flock member, you're a tourist (a tourist) but these birdies will let you in on their celebration. Representing the Thunderbird Dance Team tonight we have this season's oldest and youngest members: Christy and Mya! Get ready because they’re comin in ’Fast’ with strong choreography to show you the amazing range of abilities on this team. This hip-hop piece has been featured at a few UBC varsity games this school year and these two are excited to share it with everyone tonight. It aims to capture girl boss energy after getting paid and swerving on snakes who try to ruffle their feathers. They don't really like to brag, but whenever they need a little ‘Lift Me Up’ these women turn to each other because they know they're second to none. Through this piece Christy and Mya are having one last hurrah as teammates, proudly representing their final and first year successes at UBC. TDT birdies naturally ‘PIMP’ out any setting with their ‘Moves’ and River Rock will be no exception. Buckle up and throw your hands in the air because we can assure you this city will be movin' 😏

  • Give 'em Heel is a girl group that wants to show the world that even though heels hurt, women are strong and can do anything in them. Their performance piece celebrates their uniqueness and the rebirth of their identities as dancers. It pays homage to House, ballroom, and queer culture, which are highlighted in Beyonce’s latest album, Renaissance. Get ready to groove as they take you through a journey of self-discovery, artistic freedom and joyful celebration.
